The University

The University of Liège (Uliège) has a wide range of degree courses across a broad spectrum of subject areas at undergraduate, master’s and PHD level. The student body numbers almost 25,000 students, with 6,000 coming from 130 countries around the world.
ULiège dedicates more than half of its annual budget to high-level, internationally recognised research. It’s very active research programme ranges from fundamental to applied. ULiège also focuses on interdisciplinary research, with productive collaboration between academics from different fields and industry, with an extended policy of encouraging the creation and guiding of spin-off projects and research.

The Location and Culture

Liège is Belgium’s third largest town and historically, has been one of the country’s most important industrial centers. Located on the Meuse River in Belgium’s French-speaking Wallonia region the area has an array of wonderful museums, churches, architecture, art and history.
