The University

The Technical University of Madrid (UPM) was founded in 1971 as part of an integration of Higher Technical Schools. As part of a clear vision, UPM has the goals of instilling creativity, development, transmission, criticism of science, technology and culture to build a learning experience that challenges and inspires. UPM also works with Institutes and Research Centre’s to recognise and address the changes taking place in wider society. This work underpins UPM’s reputation for excellence and is why it is recognised both nationally and internationally as a university of distinction.

The Technical University of Madrid holds a double recognition as a Campus of International Excellence and a distinction that refers to the quality of its research and teaching methods.
